What is an anti-jemmy strip and how is it fitted?

From 300 € excl. VAT

Anti-jemmy strips fitted around a door perimeter

It is a metal profile fixed around the door perimeter to improve resistance to break-ins. Among security upgrades, the anti-jemmy strip is one of the first reinforcements recommended for an entrance door.

Similar to a pivot bar, it strengthens the hinge area. When correctly fitted, it blocks the use of a lever tool (crowbar, pry bar) that would try to force the door away from the frame.

This entrance door reinforcement significantly increases the time needed to force the opening, which often deters intruders and makes the upgrade worthwhile.

By closing the gap between frame and leaf, it stops tools from being inserted and improves the security of the opening.
